Double Vision Darrell Laviolette, 1980
I’ll agree my eyes are giving me some trouble
This happens to me every now and then
For just last night I started seeing double
Thought I’d seen your double in his arms again
She looked exactly like you do in every detail
She even wore your favourite pair of shoes
As they passed those swinging doors
I heard him call her by your name
And I pray that double vision wasn’t you
I’ll agree my drinking caused a lot of trouble
Gave you every cause to leave me I could find
Well I may be drunk and I may be seeing double
But I’m a long, long way from being blind
She looked exactly like you do in every detail
She even wore your favourite pair of shoes
As they passed those swinging doors
I heard him call her by your name
And I pray that double vision wasn’t you
I pray that double vision wasn’t you.
